More Concepts of our Lodge Room

Here are some more ideas for our Lodge room. As you can see, I tried to vary the options.

Please post a comment and let me know what you like, dislike, would like to see, etc. in these renditions, and I'll see what I can do to incorporate it in a picture and post for all to see.

One Concept of our Lodge Room

Here's one idea for our Lodge room. As you can see in the picture, I tried to use exact dimensions, where possible.

Observe the following ideas:

Common wood color throughout (based on the existing chairs and altar)
Drapes and blinds
Smaller secretary and treasurer desks
Larger East (it is really small and cramped in the East - we really need it bigger for safety reasons)
No more theater seats
Big screen TV (for degree work and presentations)
The mosaic theme incorporated in the floor
Smaller altar
Starry-decked heavens
Neutral carpet
Off-white paint

What is not apparent in the picture is dramatic lighting via recessed lighting. I put in the plan two recessed lights in the East, one over the Northeast corner, one by the door, and one over by the West gate.

What do you think?

Another cool picture of a Lodge

Schofield House Lodge Room 1

Here is another cool picture of a Lodge room, this one in the Lanier-Schofield House, in historic Madison, Indiana.

I like the color of the walls and the accent. While I'm not a big fan of wooden floors, I do like this flooring. I still think we should go with a dark blue carpet though.

How's this for a Lodge room?

Lodge Room Istanbul

Now I'm not saying we should go as crazy as this Lodge room, located in Istanbul, Turkey, but it is pretty cool!!!

I'll see if I can find some more pictures to post to this blog so you all can comment on them.

Some Random Thoughts

Here are some random thoughts for all to comment on:

Small spotlights. I think it would be really neat to have some small recessed spotlights in our new Lodge room. These could be used to make the Master Mason's Degree that more dramatic. I think the East, West, and South chairs should be so equipped, as well as a small light be aimed straight down and illuminate the altar. Also, possibly a light aimed near the West Gate would be nice.

I really like our handmade altar, but it's too big for our small Lodge room. I think it would be possible to have about 1/4 to 1/3 taken out of the center portion and still look nice. Also, someone has suggested we attach the three lesser lights to the altar, which would save some more room.

Our ritual mentions the checkered floor - I think it would be really neat to have that motif somewhere in the Lodge room. I'm not suggesting we do the entire floor like this, but possibly a four foot-wide section between the East and the altar????

Does everyone like the color of the current carpet? Should it change color, and if so, to what?

What are your thoughts?

Hello Acacia Lodge!

Hello Brethren,

I thought it would be a great idea to figure out how we want to design and decorate our Lodge room, before we actually begin.

Help us brainstorm and capture ideas for decorating our Lodge room! Any and all ideas are welcome, no matter how outlandish or exotic.

Before we begin, I want to lay some ground rules:

No personal attacks will be tolerated

Let's keep the language at a PG-13 level

I think that should suffice for now.

Especially welcome from everyone is lots of posts, comments, and pictures so we can get a better idea of is meant.

Let's get to it!
